Last Minute Valentine's Day Plans
If you're reading this, you're probably a procrastinator. That's okay! Whether you are solo this year or have a partner to share this overrated holiday with, don't stress about making plans! This day is a celebration of the love you have in your life, so why not do exactly that? Here are some budget-friendly and easy planning ideas for your celebrations. Keep it low-key. If you are in the beginning stages of a relationship, or you don't particularly care for the holiday, keeping things casual is the best way to go. This can include going to your favorite brewery or going to get hamburgers at your favorite joint. My favorite breweries in the Atlanta area are Monday Night, New Realm, Dry County, and Reformation. This is how Nick and I are celebrating our Valentines since we have an anniversary a week later. I've been craving Five Guys Burgers & Fries since Sunday, so I made a cute little 5 second graphic and sent it to his email to ask him out to plans. Other great burger places in the area are YEAH! Burger, Cafe Sunflower (vegetarian), Farm burger (veg. options), Stockyard Burger's and Bones, Shake Shack (a little overrated) and the Varsity (also a little overrated, but a fun experience). |

Broke but wanna celebrate? Being in a relationship that has lasted from high school to college, we've had our fair share of being broke. One of my favorite things to do is grab a cheap bottle of wine and watch stand up comedy on Netflix. We order in food like pizza or Thai and just spend quality time together. I also love getting outside whenever we can. Taking a hike or walk provides great one-on-one time to really get to know each other. Check out the Beltline, Kennesaw Mountain, Stone Mountain, Amicalola Falls, or trails Blue Ridge for fun places to visit. Bonus points if you bring a little picnic for the park!
Grab your girls! I love doing things with my core group of friends from school. This is the perfect excuse to get everyone together! Some fun ideas can be a pampering session which includes all the junk food, face masks, wine, and rom-coms, staying in the mountains for the night/weekend, or getting brunch on the 15th. The perfect brunch places include South City Kitchen, Le Petit Marche, Milk & Honey, and Local Three. If you want to keep things cheap, go to Waffle House or Cracker Barrel and just sneak some vodka/champs into your OJ. ;) Painting with a twist is also a great group hang session. There are a ton of places that offer painting with wine packages, and it's fun to see the finished result!
Get All you can eat (AYCE). Have you ever spent a ton of money for barely any food at fancy restaurants? AYCE is a great way to get the best bang for your buck. This is not always budget friendly, but it is a sure way to make sure you walk away from your meal full and a lot of times, places that offer this are fun experiences. Try going to Nori Nori (Japanese/Sushi buffet), K-Pop or D92 (Korean BBQ), or Fogo de Chao or Chama Gaucha (Brazilian steakhouse) to get your fix.
Make things easy, but romantic. Cooking together is an easy way to have a fun activity and still get great food! Pick something easy like pasta or steak and elevate it to your skill level. Making fresh pasta as a beginner cook might not be the best idea, but you can always make homemade sauce with the right recipe. Make a couple of courses to make the "date" last as long as you want. When it's time to finally eat, lay out a blanket on the floor, light some candles, and play your favorite music or movie. If you just listen to music, a great way to get to know each other is google some questions to ask one another.
